Agricultura viva

Onboard traditional trajinera, we will travel through the channels while enjoying the beautiful view. Know scientific facts about the wetland biodiversity and the challenges it is facing. Meet local farmers at an original chinampa and experience the ancient agriculture techniques by planting the seed, transplanting the plant and harvesting to enjoy it along with a local snack or meal, heated in a wood stove.

Aleteo mañanero

Sailing among streams and water reeds, we will appreciate the beautiful view of the wetland and enjoy the amazing resident and migratory birds assisted by a specialist. Know scientific facts about the wetland biodiversity and the challenges it is facing. Meet local farmers at an original chinampa and experience the ancient agriculture techniques by planting the seed, transplanting the plant, and harvesting to enjoy it along with a local snack, heated in a wood stove.

Includes: a welcoming light breakfast, whole day guided tour in English, farming activities "chinampero for a day" and a local Mexican snack. We can offer special activities for children.

Biósfera gastronómica

At dawn, we will be greeted with a hot drink, bread, and fruit. We will travel through the canals and our first stop will be in a very special swamp. Assisted by an enthusiastic bird specialist, we will observe and identify birds. Get ready to contribute with your observations to the citizen bird census!

Later, we will go to the chinampa "Apantle" where we can live the experience of harvesting our food and enjoy a delicious Mexican 4-course meal, prepared by Chef Beatriz Calderón, surrounded by a very country-like atmosphere. Finally, we will take a tour of the chinampa to learn about old agricultural techniques and the actions we carry out to conserve it. As a grand finale of an eventful day, you will meet the Xochimilco Axolotl, an emblematic amphibian from the Valley of Mexico.

Includes: a welcoming light breakfast onboard the "trajinera", birdwatching and whole day guided tour in English, farming activities, and a 4-course Mexican food.
